The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Full Of Creativity

Along with all of you, I’ve taken the past 2 weeks to let everything sink in.  The shock of how quick life can change is slowly going away, but it has left me with a sense of wanting to take this time to grow and to share with you what I’ve learned so far.

Side note:  expect a lot of blog posts from me 😉

I’ve learned that creativity is more than just finding a hobby or project to do, but instead it is essential for mental health.  Finding something that brings a smile to your face is very important; we cannot fall into the trap of fear.

Yes, things are very real out there, but if we listen to what has been suggested to us in staying in our home, then we will be doing our part in ridding our World of this virus.  I feel it is a small sacrifice, in order to save our World.

Okay, so that’s all I want to say about the “v” word, it has temporarily taken over and I’m not going to allow it to do that, especially here on my blog!  So, here is some creative positive options for you, that I’m also going to harness:

Baking

Cooking something NEW!

Coloring

Painting

Crafting

Changing Old Clothing into something fun (costume)

Sewing

Reading

Journaling

Writing a Novel

Puzzles

Legos

Movies

TV Series Marathon

Word Search

Crossword

Flipping Through an old magazine

Watching sports (all the sports channels are playing reruns)

Get outside in your yard (we still have snow, so we will have to wait another month or so)

Make a To Do list (for once everything gets back to normal)

Spring Clean

Clean out the closets

Go through family albums and create a memory book

Scrapbooking

Clean up the garage

Get on-line and watch a free concert

Start talking to family and friends through FaceTime

Create a Favorites List

Plan a Passion List (my name for a bucket list)

Exercise

Start a free online course

Start a group online and enjoy talking about a positive subject

This list is just a list of suggestions; whatever you do, please make sure you do it in your home or in your own yard.

You can also make arrangements with a friend to do all the above with someone on-line.  It’s all about getting creative!  Create an appointment with friends or family to join you in a project!  Hey, great time to start a book club ❤❤

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Miss Layla Is In The House!

Every now and then, we get the complete honor of looking after Miss Layla!  This cute little dog, who has now become part of our family, along with her Mommy, Joy!  I’m referred to as Auntie Jackie, my husband is referred to as Big Daddy and our daughter is now Layla’s cousin…LOL!  I love the total creative fun Miss Layla has brought to our family.

Although, we get to fur babysit, every two months or so, we still get to see her every day, as she lives in the building we manage!  There is a Gift to everything in life, and this is just one of them.

We have 3 days with Miss Layla in the House!  Since our Husky Wiley passed away, November 2017, there has been that void in our home and in our hearts, but Life has placed Layla in our World and it is what has been needed to help heal our hearts.

We, as a family, can’t tell you how grateful we are for this opportunity!  Today is also my husbands birthday and looking after Miss Layla is such a gift!

If you find yourself mourning the loss of a family pet; there are options for you as well.  Volunteer to spend your time at your local SPCA and give your love to other animals; the energy you will feel from these fur babies will fill the void in your heart.  If you have a friend or family member who have animals, offer to spend time with their pets as well; after all, these beautiful animals are family too💖

We are looking forward to creating some memories with Miss Layla the next 3 days; I know we will cherish them for a very long time.  Gratitude All The Way!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Fun On The Farm

I will always be grateful for being able to visit my Grandma on her farm; it truly was the most peaceful environment I’ve experienced.

The fresh air, everything in her pantry was homemade, and it was like Time stood still.  For me, the main thing I looked forward to the most, aside from my Grandma, was her animals.  I could go into her chicken coop and get chased by the chickens 😂 I could go to the barn and feed the cows and I could play with her dogs!  Oh those dogs!  I loved them so much!

My Grandma had one dog named, Trigger who would smile at you!  It was such a welcoming feeling going out to the Farm.

I feel, for any child or preteen, having the opportunity to visit a farm, is extremely therapeutic for them.  I believe, aside from the fresh air, the energy from the animals is of pure love.  I can still feel that comfort to this day!

I know some of us don’t have the privilege to visit farms, but there are options.  Your local SPCA have animals that would love to have visits from children, or anyone for that matter; they are needing it the most.  In fact, if you contact your local SPCA, they would also accept volunteers to walk the animals and do other activities with them.

It would be a win/win situation, the SPCA needs people to volunteer and the kids would be receiving the best gift of all – the gift of energy/love from an animal.  Today’s children need this option, in more ways than one.  To learn to give back instead of receive and to learn to love an animal – they have hearts just like we do that need comfort 💖
