Have you found your sleeping patterns are all messed up? If you answered, “yes” to that question, then I’m very thankful I’m not alone 😉😉
Yikes!! Talk about weird sleep patterns and weird dreams! I have always been used to having “Stephen King” nightmares throughout my life, but these dreams are quite strange. I don’t even know where to begin, but they all have something to do with change and starting over.
I understand where all this upheaval is coming from, but for the most part, I try to journal my experience. I feel that is so very important to keep track of our dreams at night and how our sleep patterns have changed. You will find, the more you talk about it, the more you will see you are not alone. In fact, you will have more in common with others and will share the same experiences.
We are on a heck of a ride at the moment, so it is normal for it to affect our sleep as well.
I’m happy to report, I’ve still remained a positive “morning person”; I’m grateful for maintaining that approach to my day. I have adopted the thought process that we are on an adventure, instead of something negative. I’m trying to take a therapeutic approach to my sleep, dreams, and how I wake up.
Here is how my night starts:
When I go to sleep, around 11:30 pm (which is late for me) I’m hoping to actually fall asleep.
After tossing and turning, watching the TV in my bedroom (it is 12:45 am at this point), I will turn the TV off and turn on some spa (Reiki) music to calm my mind.
I manage to actually fall asleep, but wake up every 2 hours to toss around some more.
I will finally wake up at 5:45 am, put the coffee on, then go back to bed.
I manage to fall back to sleep.
I then wake up at 9:30 am.
As you can see, my sleep is not solid. I tend to want to just get up and stay awake, but I also know that will make me then sleep during the day, and then I will really be messed up.
The important thing, is that I’m still waking up with a smile on my face! I know I’m not the only one struggling, and that this too will pass. Remember, everything is temporary with regards to this upheaval.
