The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Have You Lost Your Way?

Do you feel as though you have lost your way? It is almost a childlike feeling; when a child is feeling scared and lonely in this great big World we live in. Even though we have all felt at times, lost in our way, I’m not going to say, “I understand, exactly what you are going through and how you feel”, because each experience is different. Each experience should be treated differently.

Each experience should be recognized. Each experience should be acknowledged. Each experience should be comforted.

We tend to blame ourselves when we are in a position where we feel lost, but before you go down that road, just remind yourself, sometimes the World changes and takes over the control for just a bit of time. Sometimes, things happen in the World that put us in a tiny state of shock for a moment; it isn’t anything we have done, it is just circumstances that get out of control.

That’s when we “take our control” back! We slowly find our way again! We find options, we find a new way of thinking, we find comfort, we find answers, and we find a sense of peace within reach.

We cannot let something that is not in our control, control “our way”. No matter what, “our way” is, it will remain that way. “Our Way”, is what we own, it is also, “our why” in life. When you know “why” you are passionate about something in your life, then that becomes your way! You will never lose “your way”; it is always with you.

The next time you feel as though you have lost your way, just take a moment and breathe, sit in silence and remind yourself, your way is always there. Find your grounding, find your center, find your clarity, it is within you as well. In that moment of silence, listen to your breath, listen to your heart telling you, “I’m here”.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Creating A Sanctuary

Since we have been cleaning and cleaning our home, for what seems like an endless amount of time, product, and muscle, it is now time to focus on creating a sanctuary.  Change it up a bit!  Move some furniture around!  Create a different look!

When the virus broke out, we packed up all our dust collectors, our pictures, items we were not using, and left a blank canvas for a home.  We cleaned and cleaned some more, to make sure we were following the proper steps for fighting the virus.  I know it seems a little obsessive, but when dealing with something we have never dealt with before, we didn’t want to risk anything.  Proactive at its finest!

The benefit of this project of packing and cleaning, made us see just what we could live without and what we actually needed.  It was a gift to look at our home empty, except for the necessities.  We created an environment that could breathe better!  The energy flow in our home was calmer and flowed more freely.

As time has gone by, and we are getting accustomed to how we are now living in the New World and living in a new realization, it is now time to start to create our sanctuary.

We needed to take this time in our lives, to not put pressure on ourselves in trying to understand our New World.  We needed to take this time to not panic, but instead to learn how to accept.  We needed to take this time to look at our lives and see where our creativity could take us and how we could make a life where we were more self sustaining, more resourceful, and more reliant on our abilities that we had at one time taken for granted.

It is funny what you learn about yourself, when you just take that moment to sit back, breathe, and tap into “you”.  My abilities of writing, cooking, growing vegetables, making homemade products, for example, have now become my full-time career.  I found a way to turn what I do on a daily basis, into a career.  A career in sharing!  Sharing what I have learned on this new journey!  The Good Vibes Only Roadshow has now become something larger, but yet something more valuable – it has become life changing.

Our sanctuary is going to reflect all what we have learned in the past couple of months, it is going to reflect our connection with each other and our goals for the future.  Our sanctuary is not about material items, it will be more about peace, calm, and reflection.

I hope you take this time to reflect, change or rearrange, and create a space that is all about who you are now; who you have become.  Embrace this change; life has handed us out an experience to learn by, in more ways than one.  Make the best of your environment you are living in; let some light in, let the air flow, and feel the balance.  Calm your mind; calm your space!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Family Plans!

Boy, my family and I have sure been doing some thinking!  We have made some family plans, which will change our future lifestyle, in a great way!

I’m a firm believer, things happen for a reason, whether we want them to or not.  We are meant to learn a valuable lesson when certain events happen in our lives.  There is no other answer for it!  We are here to learn!

As a family, we have decided to go back to the basics in life, with Internet of course!!  Baby steps!!  Right??

When we see how our lives, as we know it can be stopped so quickly, with no fault of our own, and how whether we wanted to or not, we had to adjust to a new way of life, made us do some serious thinking.  We wanted to have a life where we could at least limit the amount of worry.  To have a better sense of Peace.

Call it, a mix of Little House On The Prairie meets Technology!  Ya, I haven’t really figured out the mix just yet, but you get the picture!!

We have taken our lifestyle to a new level, and that is to build a homestead out of shipping containers, live self sustaining, and live off grid.  To be honest, we do not know when we are going to do this, but at least we are in the planning stages.  The main thing, is we are very excited to dive into this new way of life.  I can’t wait to focus on my career in writing, while living this new lifestyle.  I can visualize it, but I can’t wait to “feel” it!

We still have our plans, to one day, bring The Good Vibes Only Roadshow, literally “on the road”, to do our best to help others focus on positive perspectives in life.  In fact, last summer we test drove, living in a 5th wheel full-time to have a time of adjustment.  It went very well, so we know we could adjust to that lifestyle.  Happy Dance!!!

I suppose, during this time, our lives have become even more creative and that is something I look forward too every single day!  So whether or not, our plans happen now or a year down the road, they make me smile when I wake up each morning!

We are all here to learn, and we are trying to do just that; learn as we go!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Pink Flamingo’s at the Campsite!

This is the time of year, in our neck of the woods (cottage country) where we are from, where lots and lots of campers, families using their cottages, and full-time RV families, will be using the endless amount of campsites in our Province of Ontario.

Well, lets just say, “plans have changed for the majority of these families”.  Although, for now these sites are not listed as “essential”, there will be a time where they will be.  When you think about it, a very high percentage of campers are living the “full-time RV lifestyle” and need to be able to park their “homes” somewhere.

We need to be able to get our Pink Flamingo’s out of storage and display them as they should be!!  Right in front of our home at camp! 😉😉

My family and I have a 5th wheel at our camp, however we are unable to access it due to the latest happenings in the news today.  In fact, we are not even allowed to move our trailer at all; we are only allowed to make appointments in the event we need to remove items from “out of” our trailer.  But I am not complaining; instead I am grateful the campgrounds are following the Government orders.  The more people that don’t follow, then the longer it will take for us to get back to the lives we knew.

I have one little suggestion that may help while we are riding out this latest wave.

If you are able to, and what we all need to do as one large Team in the World, is this:

If you have a home that has a larger driveway, yard, or even acreage, please offer some “temporary” space to these full-time RV families, with the stipulation that social distancing must be followed.  Not all RV families, have extended families they can stay with, nor do they have the large amounts budgeted to pay for the rental of homes or apartments.  That’s one of the reasons why they made the choice to RV full-time; works better in a budget.

Please do an act of kindness for these families; one act of kindness goes a very long way.  Eventually, once things get a bit more organized, the Governments will have some adjusted rules to perhaps make it easier for “seasonal” campers to set up their homes again.  To be honest, it is no different than living in a regular house; you still have neighbors to watch out for and to practice social distancing with, so it shouldn’t be a problem for RV families who have been doing this full-time.

Lets make sure we work together to help free the Pink Flamingo’s once again, to brighten up this World and show that it is still okay to live life, regardless if you live in a house, apartment or trailer.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Full Of Creativity

Along with all of you, I’ve taken the past 2 weeks to let everything sink in.  The shock of how quick life can change is slowly going away, but it has left me with a sense of wanting to take this time to grow and to share with you what I’ve learned so far.

Side note:  expect a lot of blog posts from me 😉

I’ve learned that creativity is more than just finding a hobby or project to do, but instead it is essential for mental health.  Finding something that brings a smile to your face is very important; we cannot fall into the trap of fear.

Yes, things are very real out there, but if we listen to what has been suggested to us in staying in our home, then we will be doing our part in ridding our World of this virus.  I feel it is a small sacrifice, in order to save our World.

Okay, so that’s all I want to say about the “v” word, it has temporarily taken over and I’m not going to allow it to do that, especially here on my blog!  So, here is some creative positive options for you, that I’m also going to harness:

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – A Lesson Learned!

I learned a very valuable lesson not to long ago; never sway from your passions!  My passions in life are based on living a peaceful life, while helping others achieve a sense of peace as well.  Whether a sense of peace is found in my blog and social media posts, from the books I have written or from the gift I have as a Reiki Master, my passion in life is to help others find an avenue to bring inspiration and positive choices into their lives.

We all go through tests in our lives; some are there to help us along the right path, but then there are tests to make sure we do not sway from our passionate path in life.

I also believe in sharing my truths, as I believe if I can help just one person a day, then I’m doing what I have set out to do in my life.

Over the years, I’ve been tested in many areas of my life.  One thing I’ve learned is that these tests, if you let them move in and take up residence in your brain, are only there to create havoc and chaos, which then creates a wrath of anxiety.  Every single time, one of these tests show up, I will admit, they check into my brain for a brief moment, but then after reflecting on what is important in my life (my passions), it leaves with a sense of release.  It almost feels as though my Crown Chakra opens up and lets all the havoc and chaos particles float on up and out of my body.

I know that sounds deep, but it is the only way I can explain it.  There were tests I’ve gone through where I’ve kept everything to myself.  Not the best thing for me to do, but like I say, “I am human”.  I’ve felt the signs of negativity these tests have brought to me, so I have learned to cry through them.  A great release for me at times!  I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, “there is nothing wrong with crying”.

This was an awakening for me!  I needed to stay true to my passions within me!  Although, these tests were job opportunities which I was approached with, they just truly weren’t for me.  I had considered them, as I thought it would be an opportunity to again help, but something was telling me it just wasn’t the right thing for me to do.  Intuition at its finest I suppose; I was listening to my gut feeling and staying true to my passions.

My passions pull at my heart!  They are mine!  They fuel me every single day!  They bring me joy!  They bring me peace!

I only hope you all can do the same!  Stay true to who you are and what brings you a sense of passion in your lives!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – I Am Strong!

Being strong is not only a physical attribute, but a mental one as well!  It is truly amazing, just how much strength is available to us in our minds and in our soul, when we really need it.  I will admit, sometimes we need a “push” in order to find it, but regardless, we will indeed find our inner strength and what a gift that wake up is!

It is very easy to fall into depression when things are not going as planned, and it is very easy to stay there.  We all go through many challenges in our lives, but in order to stay strong, we need to take each challenge, one at a time.  Strength will constantly be there for us; just need to tap into the “signs” of strength when they present themselves.

Strength shows up in many forms.

Reading books, reading articles, and reading blogs.  Listening to music, the news, or a certain TV show.  Spending time with a friend, a family member, or  watching an interaction between complete strangers.  Paying attention to our body, our mind, and our soul and nourishing what we need.  Meditation, food, exercise, yoga, etc., will bring you the strength your healthy mindset will need in order to gain more strength.

Strength = Wisdom

It is okay to take a much needed “me” day, or put yourself in a “gentle timeout”; we all need time to ourselves to cry through our frustrations and the feeling of being overwhelmed.  It is okay to cry through it, as this is also a way to love yourself through your challenges as well.  Crying is the first step to healing, and healing helps to build strength.

Strength = Healing

Take time to look at yourself in the mirror and say, “it is okay what you are experiencing, you are human”, show yourself the comfort, understanding, and love that you would so freely give others.  It is time to give it to yourself.

Strength = Love

Stay strong, stay available to yourself, stay in love with who you are, and understand you are only human.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Pink Nails

It is funny, what stands out about a person in your mind, after they are gone.

My Mom and her Pink Nails!  I still remember the name of the nail polish; Windsor by Revlon!

In thinking about my Mom, I think about our own children.  Although, they are all in their 20’s now, every chance I get, I remind them how important it is to take note of all the things we may take for granted – even the shape of nails.

This post is about, “living life with no regrets”; take note of everything about the ones you love.

Eventually, and unfortunately, we will all have to say goodbye to those we love; the gift is remembering everything about them.  The sound of their voice, their favorite nail polish color, their favorite foods, their hobbies, and the sound of their laugh.

By taking note of all their qualities, you will be able to share all your memories and characteristics to the future generations of your family.  These things will be so important in teaching new generations about life and where they came from; even the color of someone’s nail polish.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Cleaning Out My Closet!

On the weekend, upon return from our holiday, I went straight to my closet and started cleaning it out!

For some reason, the gift our holiday gave to me, was the need to donate to those less fortunate.  Even though, my family and I do not take holidays every year (in fact it had been 12 years since we had a week-long holiday) it left me feeling extremely grateful to be able to do so.  I came back with a renewed gift in my heart to give to others.

I spent, approximately 3 hours in my bedroom, going through closets and drawers and finding myself asking this question, “why did I ever buy this to begin with; I’ve never worn it!”  In the bag it went!

After I took a break, my family and I watched American Idol; where they took the group to Hawaii.  I sat there and cried, listening to all the stories of how some of these kids, literally have nothing.  I felt more gratitude for my life, at which time I went back into my bedroom and cleaned out my closet some more!  I then moved to the linen closet and found blankets we did not need and bagged them up!

My heart feels full to be able to donate clothing and blankets to those in need!  I am not one of the richest people in the World, in fact I’m far from it, but by being able to donate what I have, I cannot put a price on how it makes me feel.

We all have things in our closets that have been there because we “figured” we would wear it one day, or we just needed a good dose of “retail therapy”, but really did we “need” it?

The feeling of freedom and peace I feel right now, by donating my clothing to someone in need is a feeling I will forever be grateful for.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Color Me Happy

All our senses need attention; the funny thing is, is when we tap into art and coloring it brings a sense of relaxation.  A sense of Peace!

I was so happy to see coloring books created for adults (mandalas, humor, etc.).  In my mind, someone finally got it!  We need to color, we need that extra outlet to calm our minds; we need to experience and escape into a childlike state again.  This brings a huge smile to our faces; the more outlets we have, the better!

This is a need in our lives; take a step back and appreciate just what color can do for our moods.  Whether you enjoy coloring, painting on canvas, or painting walls – DO IT!  There is nothing wrong with feeling like a kid again; sometimes, that is all that is needed.
