The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – A Lesson Learned!

I learned a very valuable lesson not to long ago; never sway from your passions!  My passions in life are based on living a peaceful life, while helping others achieve a sense of peace as well.  Whether a sense of peace is found in my blog and social media posts, from the books I have written or from the gift I have as a Reiki Master, my passion in life is to help others find an avenue to bring inspiration and positive choices into their lives.

We all go through tests in our lives; some are there to help us along the right path, but then there are tests to make sure we do not sway from our passionate path in life.

I also believe in sharing my truths, as I believe if I can help just one person a day, then I’m doing what I have set out to do in my life.

Over the years, I’ve been tested in many areas of my life.  One thing I’ve learned is that these tests, if you let them move in and take up residence in your brain, are only there to create havoc and chaos, which then creates a wrath of anxiety.  Every single time, one of these tests show up, I will admit, they check into my brain for a brief moment, but then after reflecting on what is important in my life (my passions), it leaves with a sense of release.  It almost feels as though my Crown Chakra opens up and lets all the havoc and chaos particles float on up and out of my body.

I know that sounds deep, but it is the only way I can explain it.  There were tests I’ve gone through where I’ve kept everything to myself.  Not the best thing for me to do, but like I say, “I am human”.  I’ve felt the signs of negativity these tests have brought to me, so I have learned to cry through them.  A great release for me at times!  I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, “there is nothing wrong with crying”.

This was an awakening for me!  I needed to stay true to my passions within me!  Although, these tests were job opportunities which I was approached with, they just truly weren’t for me.  I had considered them, as I thought it would be an opportunity to again help, but something was telling me it just wasn’t the right thing for me to do.  Intuition at its finest I suppose; I was listening to my gut feeling and staying true to my passions.

My passions pull at my heart!  They are mine!  They fuel me every single day!  They bring me joy!  They bring me peace!

I only hope you all can do the same!  Stay true to who you are and what brings you a sense of passion in your lives!

Being strong is not only a physical attribute, but a mental one as well!  It is truly amazing, just how much strength is available to us in our minds and in our soul, when we really need it.  I will admit, sometimes we need a “push” in order to find it, but regardless, we will indeed find our inner strength and what a gift that wake up is!

It is very easy to fall into depression when things are not going as planned, and it is very easy to stay there.  We all go through many challenges in our lives, but in order to stay strong, we need to take each challenge, one at a time.  Strength will constantly be there for us; just need to tap into the “signs” of strength when they present themselves.

Strength shows up in many forms.

Reading books, reading articles, and reading blogs.  Listening to music, the news, or a certain TV show.  Spending time with a friend, a family member, or  watching an interaction between complete strangers.  Paying attention to our body, our mind, and our soul and nourishing what we need.  Meditation, food, exercise, yoga, etc., will bring you the strength your healthy mindset will need in order to gain more strength.

Strength = Wisdom

It is okay to take a much needed “me” day, or put yourself in a “gentle timeout”; we all need time to ourselves to cry through our frustrations and the feeling of being overwhelmed.  It is okay to cry through it, as this is also a way to love yourself through your challenges as well.  Crying is the first step to healing, and healing helps to build strength.

Strength = Healing

Take time to look at yourself in the mirror and say, “it is okay what you are experiencing, you are human”, show yourself the comfort, understanding, and love that you would so freely give others.  It is time to give it to yourself.

Strength = Love

Stay strong, stay available to yourself, stay in love with who you are, and understand you are only human.

Love – the best 4 letter word you can say!

The word “Love” does not always mean “to fall in love with someone”, but instead I believe Love should start with “falling in love with yourself” first.

You can love so many people, animals, places, food, things, information, and the World itself, but not many people will say, “I love myself” first when asked the question, “what is it that you love?  Who do you love?”

In starting this new year, I decided to start my day off with Affirmations!  You know, the “I Am” process which everyone should do.  That’s just my opinion 😊 I found in starting my day off in a positive way before my feet even hit the floor in the morning, I was loving myself more and more.  I was loving myself from the “inside” which then made my love for the “outside” of myself better.

We are all guilty of being our worst critics, but what about being are greatest supporters?  By supporting yourself and finding the positive in yourself, you in turn starting loving yourself more and more every single day!

I feel it is so very important to Love Yourself!  With so much negativity in the World (which I might add, could all be solved with a good old fashioned “love thy neighbor” workshop), we need to focus on Love.  When you love yourself, you smile more.  When you love yourself, you are more kind to others. When you love yourself, you have a sense of Peace.

There is so much to be grateful for in your life; start by being grateful for yourself!  Start by loving who you are, your thoughts, your dreams, your kindness towards others, and your compassion!  These are just a few areas of your life you can start with, then each day, add one or two more characteristics about yourself that you should and could love.

Share your love for yourself; love is contagious and should be shared!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Let The Sun Shine!

Depending on where you live and depending on the type of weather you experience, this time of year can bring on the “hum drum” sadness.  Cold and snowy weather can cause us to sink into a tiny bit of depression.  We don’t realize just how much we rely on a beautiful sunny day.

This is when I like to harness creative visualization to get me through those days.

It is funny, just how powerful our minds are, when we visualize sunny days, or anything positive for that matter.  Our environment is a reflection of who we are, and especially when weather affects us, it is important to dive into our creative ability to change our environment to help guide us out of the “hum drum” state.

What I like to do, is create a warm destination in my own home.  I will have a nice citrus candle or aromatherapy burner going, I will take a bath filled with tropical senses, and if I happen to be staying home for the day, I will dress as if it is 90 degrees outside – nothing wrong with wearing your flip flops in the house and freeing your feet.  I will turn on some Hawaiian music, and I will even cook a summer dinner.  It works!  I don’t even have to look outside and see the 3 feet of snow; my mind has created a nice sunny day with beautiful flowers.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is something that should be taken seriously; if you find yourself experiencing SAD, then it is important to start with your environment.  Your Home!  Our senses are the way to helping yourself feel better.  From the sense of smell, taste, and hearing.  Give yourself the gift of treating your senses to a burst of sunlight!

Remember, this weather is temporary and we will all get through it!  We will all enjoy the sun that is shining and making us smile soon enough; but for now, there is nothing wrong with creating this atmosphere in your home.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – I’m Loving My Playlist!

There is no hiding it – I am a Rock n’ Roll Lover!  Especially the 80’s Hair Bands!  I’m not sure if it was the music, or the fact I wanted to have long hair and make up like they had, but regardless, those 80’s hair bands stole my heart!

My love for music has grown over the years; I love every genre of music.  I appreciate the different feelings I experience while listening to such creativity.

Every single time I sit down to start writing, I must have music playing.  Today, I have a “coffeehouse” playlist which is calming and interesting at the same time.  The creativity behind this music, clearly is all about emotions.  Music from their hearts!

I feel very fortunate to have all these artists creating music; brings me a sense of calm, encourages me with my own creativity, and puts a smile on my face.  Every now and then, music inspires me to get up and dance!  Not only am I exercising my mind with music, I am exercising my body.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – It Takes Nothing To Apologize

One thing that seems consistent in this World we live in, is there is not enough apologizing.  We all make mistakes, we all say things that could offend, we all wish we could take those words back.  Are you sorry?  Is it ego?  Is it being stubborn?  What is it?

We never remind ourselves, what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot!

We don’t always intentionally hurt the feelings of others, so then why is it so hard to tell those we have hurt, we are sorry?

It truly takes nothing to apologize; how hard is it?

It is time to look in the mirror and first apologize to ourselves for not being brave enough to apologize to those who truly need to hear it.  Then go out and wear your heart on your sleeve and tell them you are sorry.  Not only will this help remove the bricks off your shoulders from carrying that weight of regret, but you will put a smile on someone’s face who truly deserves to be able to smile again.

Honesty is key!  Free your mind, free your soul, and free the hurt that is caused by not apologizing.  It takes only two words, and in fact, just one second to say!

I’m Sorry!

You will feel better, the person who hears your apology will feel better and guess what?  The energy around you will feel better!!  No more dark cloud, but instead sunshine!  Smiles!  Hugs!  Feelings from the Heart!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – The Question: What Are You Thankful For?

Every morning, when I open my eyes from my sleep, I take a moment to think about what I am thankful for, before I even get out of my bed.  I know it sounds easy to do, but to be honest it took discipline.

I was in the habit of waking up and jumping out of bed and not really thinking about anything, aside from, “I can’t wait until 5 pm”.  I would start my day, crabby, anxious waiting for the day to end, and somewhat depressed.  Something had to change!

I decided to do myself a favor and take a moment of, “me time”, before I started my day.  I started with making a conscious effort to lay in bed and think of three (3) things I was thankful for before my feet hit the floor.  I came up with this:

I am thankful for waking up!

I am thankful for my family!

I am thankful for being able to smile!

I kept it simple and easy, but to be honest, it changed the way I looked at my day!  I was no longer in a panic for the day to end!  As my day went on, I found more positive things to be thankful for.  Whether it was the blue sky, a smile from a stranger, or being able to have clean water, I found something throughout my day to keep me focused on the bigger picture in life!  Being thankful!

My morning list has grown, and I am thankful for that as well!  We tend to find so many things to focus on which cause us anxiety; I think it is time to set those aside and focus on what brings us a sense of peace.

Calming the mind, first thing in the morning, will help you throughout your day!  Be thankful for you!
