The Good Vibes Only Roadshow

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – I Need Some Chocolate

For whatever reason, I need chocolate!

I usually don’t eat a lot of chocolate, in fact, I maybe have it once a month, but the craving is there. No! I’m not pregnant! Although, I am looking at these cravings as a rebirth!

I find, since we have been living in this New World of ours, I’ve heard a lot of people talking about cravings, trying new foods, and going on new diets. This New World has given a new perspective of life; for me, the rebirth in my life is not taking anything for granted and having that piece of cake if I want too.

If you love chocolate, or caramel, or anything tasty, then go for it! Enjoy what you are craving.

I am applying this theory to the rest of my life; if I am craving something positive in my life, then I am going to try and fill up that craving with as much positivism as possible. Regardless of what is going on around us, there is no reason why we can’t do our part in filling up our lives with the greatness the World still has to offer.

There are different forms of “chocolate” cake in our lives! Relationships can be the sweetest, our careers can be an indulgence all on its own, and our lifestyles can even have the “cherry” on top! You get the symbolism 😉

Bake that cake! Eat that chocolate! Enjoy every aspect of your life!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Creating A Sanctuary

Since we have been cleaning and cleaning our home, for what seems like an endless amount of time, product, and muscle, it is now time to focus on creating a sanctuary.  Change it up a bit!  Move some furniture around!  Create a different look!

When the virus broke out, we packed up all our dust collectors, our pictures, items we were not using, and left a blank canvas for a home.  We cleaned and cleaned some more, to make sure we were following the proper steps for fighting the virus.  I know it seems a little obsessive, but when dealing with something we have never dealt with before, we didn’t want to risk anything.  Proactive at its finest!

The benefit of this project of packing and cleaning, made us see just what we could live without and what we actually needed.  It was a gift to look at our home empty, except for the necessities.  We created an environment that could breathe better!  The energy flow in our home was calmer and flowed more freely.

As time has gone by, and we are getting accustomed to how we are now living in the New World and living in a new realization, it is now time to start to create our sanctuary.

We needed to take this time in our lives, to not put pressure on ourselves in trying to understand our New World.  We needed to take this time to not panic, but instead to learn how to accept.  We needed to take this time to look at our lives and see where our creativity could take us and how we could make a life where we were more self sustaining, more resourceful, and more reliant on our abilities that we had at one time taken for granted.

It is funny what you learn about yourself, when you just take that moment to sit back, breathe, and tap into “you”.  My abilities of writing, cooking, growing vegetables, making homemade products, for example, have now become my full-time career.  I found a way to turn what I do on a daily basis, into a career.  A career in sharing!  Sharing what I have learned on this new journey!  The Good Vibes Only Roadshow has now become something larger, but yet something more valuable – it has become life changing.

Our sanctuary is going to reflect all what we have learned in the past couple of months, it is going to reflect our connection with each other and our goals for the future.  Our sanctuary is not about material items, it will be more about peace, calm, and reflection.

I hope you take this time to reflect, change or rearrange, and create a space that is all about who you are now; who you have become.  Embrace this change; life has handed us out an experience to learn by, in more ways than one.  Make the best of your environment you are living in; let some light in, let the air flow, and feel the balance.  Calm your mind; calm your space!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Shopping Online

I’ll be honest with you, I’ve done some online shopping in my life, but for the most part, I’ve been one to go out and do my shopping, especially for food.  However, times are changing and wouldn’t you know it, the online shopping World is now becoming our new daily normal.

I know you’ve heard me say, “book an appointment with yourself”, well at that time, I was referring to booking an appointment with yourself to do some self-wellness activity.  Who would of thought I would be saying, “book an appointment with yourself to do some daily online shopping” – New World!!

I suppose I took for granted that you were already doing at least some online shopping.

I have been researching products, deliveries, costs, and trying to get into a system where our family does not have to leave our home so much.  I’m happy to announce, after 4 solid days of research and organization, our family is now 100% online (delivery) and online (curbside) for every one of our needs.

Feels good to know by doing so, we have created more space in the grocery stores/essential stores for those who do not have access to online shopping

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Family Plans!

Boy, my family and I have sure been doing some thinking!  We have made some family plans, which will change our future lifestyle, in a great way!

I’m a firm believer, things happen for a reason, whether we want them to or not.  We are meant to learn a valuable lesson when certain events happen in our lives.  There is no other answer for it!  We are here to learn!

As a family, we have decided to go back to the basics in life, with Internet of course!!  Baby steps!!  Right??

When we see how our lives, as we know it can be stopped so quickly, with no fault of our own, and how whether we wanted to or not, we had to adjust to a new way of life, made us do some serious thinking.  We wanted to have a life where we could at least limit the amount of worry.  To have a better sense of Peace.

Call it, a mix of Little House On The Prairie meets Technology!  Ya, I haven’t really figured out the mix just yet, but you get the picture!!

We have taken our lifestyle to a new level, and that is to build a homestead out of shipping containers, live self sustaining, and live off grid.  To be honest, we do not know when we are going to do this, but at least we are in the planning stages.  The main thing, is we are very excited to dive into this new way of life.  I can’t wait to focus on my career in writing, while living this new lifestyle.  I can visualize it, but I can’t wait to “feel” it!

We still have our plans, to one day, bring The Good Vibes Only Roadshow, literally “on the road”, to do our best to help others focus on positive perspectives in life.  In fact, last summer we test drove, living in a 5th wheel full-time to have a time of adjustment.  It went very well, so we know we could adjust to that lifestyle.  Happy Dance!!!

I suppose, during this time, our lives have become even more creative and that is something I look forward too every single day!  So whether or not, our plans happen now or a year down the road, they make me smile when I wake up each morning!

We are all here to learn, and we are trying to do just that; learn as we go!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – We Are Learning!

During this time in our lives, we as a family, are learning!  We are going through, what I like to refer to it as,  a reality check!

How quickly life can change, out of our control.  How quickly you can be working your dream job and then poof, your not!  How quickly you can own a thriving business, the surprise it’s gone!  What we think of as normal, is now so far out of reach (for now!)

However, there is a better way of looking at it!

I want to make sure you understand, we are all doing this together!  This is why I am sharing with you, what I’ve learned and how it has comforted me.  There will be options for you to consider if you are needing them.

Yes, there is no hiding it, there is loss all over the World; that is our new reality.  Loss does not have to remain loss!  Loss is a time to get creative, not just in work, but in your lifestyle.

Start planning for a simple future!  Do we need all those bills?  Do we need a high mortgage?  Do we need to pay an even higher rent to cover someone else’s mortgage and expenses?  Do you feel trapped knowing you will still need to pay these things?  I haven’t even spoke about Gas and Power bills yet…guess what I don’t feel I need too…they are still there!

However, the answer to all of that is NO!

You have options!  The question is, are you willing to live a more simple life in order to not have the pressure of a huge financial load?

My family and I, have taken the past month, to look at our lives, and to find ways of cutting costs.  Minimize life!

We have been researching different “home” options out there and to be honest, they give me more excitement to look forward too one day.  Everything from full-time RV living (mind you, there are currently very minimal choices in that department for people to stay at), shipping container homes (supplies can be recycled to finish the inside of the container), renting land to place trailers or shipping containers on, Yurt’s, tiny homes, and commune living (not religious commune’s but that is your choice) where you rent land or buy farm land “together” with friends or family and place numerous trailers, containers, etc. on the land and have a community garden, laundry, etc.

The lives we live now, have taught us that being humble in our approach is a gift!  We are going to go back to living a simple life.  We have no detailed answers as to all the questions in how we are going to do this, or which option we are going to take, but at least we have decided to live a life where we are at Peace.

This lifestyle is not for everyone, but we have learned, the last thing we want to worry about is astronomical loss.  We are all going through that now, we don’t want to go through it again.  Living having learned valuable lessons is a Gift!  We are going to make sure we share that gift with our experiences to as many people as possible.

Keep Sharing The Love!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – How Are You Doing?

I won’t lie, the past month has been quite the year!!!  How are you all doing?

I feel it is very important to check in with each other, more now than ever.  Opening up the lines of communication, opening up your heart, and just saying a great big, “Hello!  How are you doing?”

I have been doing a whole lot of thinking these days!  I must tell you, I am learning quite a bit about life and how grateful I am for everyone in my life.  I’m not just grateful for my family and friends, but I find myself grateful for absolutely everyone on this planet!

I am grateful for the picture of the little kids coloring pictures for our healthcare workers.  I am grateful for the news broadcasters who are also risking their lives to protect us with the latest news.  I am grateful for all emergency crews, for grocery store clerks, for pharmacists providing medicine to those in need, for our sanitation crews still picking up our garbage, recycling and composting.  I am grateful for delivery companies, truck drivers bringing supplies to our stores, and for post office employees still delivering mail.  I am grateful for our Governments who are trying desperately to work together with Peace, health, and our futures in mind.  It can’t be an easy job; our patience is required while they try to do the best for us.

I am extremely grateful for social media and the internet!  Without it we wouldn’t be able to help each other and lift each other up through these different times.  I would be lost without all of you!  I am so grateful to be able to talk to you all, and will forever be grateful for this platform.

I am grateful to have Facebook!  I can see my family who do not live with us.  I can still tell them I love them!  I can still see my friends and support their hopes for a better tomorrow.  I can support my followers and provide them with as much inspiration as I can, knowing that if I help just one person a day, then I’m doing my part in this World!

There are so many more people I am grateful for, the list is endless, but I must say, I am very grateful for the pictures of pets and animals.  They have no idea what is going on, but their images bring so much comfort to many.

I wake up each day, hoping and praying that everyone is doing well, they are safe, and they are remaining in their homes to remain healthy.

This is how I am doing in my life; how are you doing?

I want to hear you, I want you to use your voice and express yourself, and I want you to do this knowing you are safe to wear your heart on your sleeve.  You will be heard!  Share your days, your hopes and your dreams.

I wish you all comfort ❤

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Summer’s Cozy Corner – An Introverts Perspective

We have a new addition to tell you about!

Summer’s Cozy Corner

This site is focused on bringing great “lifestyle” information to you, based on an introverts perspective.  We have had a lot of fun putting this together and hope that you will enjoy, Summer’s Cozy Corner!

ABOUT SUMMER’S COZY CORNER – http://www.summerscozycorner.com

I am introverted. If you meet me in person, I may offer a small wave as a “hello” or “nice to meet you”. At the same time my mind is constantly filled with ideas and concepts that I can’t get out fast enough. I’ve always felt that I had so much to say but could never spit it out properly.

Especially in writing, it is not my forte. It has taken me a long time to figure out how to go about this blog. Probably about 5 years I’d say. I’d have an outburst of ideas and simultaneously get overwhelmed trying to put them in order so that it would make sense. Frustration would ensue and I would step away from it for months. I’ve apparently had a breakthrough, finally!!

I have many interests in my life that I am equally passionate about. I could not just pick one focus. I’ve dubbed this the Cozy Corner because one constant in my world is that I always seek comfort. In one way or another. Whether it’s food, shopping, rearranging the house, I am doing these things simply to feel better. It works every time, so why not talk about it full time!

Usually it takes a spark of inspiration to get the ball rolling. Once it does get going, I could go on for hours. Long story short, in telling my stories, I hope that they spark an inspiration in your world.

I will be publishing my first book – Love Grandma by Summer’s Cozy Corner.  I hope you will all follow my site, as I will be sharing some of my Grandma’s favorite recipes that made her family feel full of love!

Please feel free to follow Summer’s Cozy Corner at http://www.summerscozycorner.com and share with all your friends, family, and followers.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Eating Healthy

There is so much truth to the fact that we are what we eat; eating healthy is so very important in our lives.

I learned several years ago (16 years to be exact), when I was caring for my Mom who had Cancer, the importance of antioxidants.  At the time, I didn’t know much about the benefits of antioxidants, until I met with my Mom’s Oncologist.  To be honest, when he opened up and shared his knowledge of “you are what you eat”, I found myself in shock, as I was so used to hearing more about the drugs they were trying to feed into my Mom.  For an Oncologist to look outside of the box and share with me something so very important was a true Gift.

He took me aside and told me, “you need to increase your Mom’s antioxidant intake; this will help her immune system.”  We all know, that when going through chemotherapy, not only is it trying to kill the Cancer, but it tends to damage our other healthy cells.  It is up to us, to do what we can from a nutrient perspective to help our bodies heal as well.

He shed so much light on the topic for me; it wasn’t about changing tradition, or disgracing the fact that my parents both ate meat, it was simply trying to give me options to HELP my Mom live longer.

I forgot to mention, during this conversation, my Mom was considered, “terminally” ill and was not given much time to live.  Now I’m not going to say, “why didn’t someone teach me this sooner”, as that is not what this post is about.  This is about sharing how food, can actually help the process of living a better quality of life.

Once I quickly found more information, quickly put together an intense antioxidant diet for her, I brought her home from the hospital knowing the Doctors had only given her 48 hours to live.

To bring some positive into this story, my Mom actually lived an entire month after I started feeding her a high antioxidant diet.  I was able to have more time with her.

After learning more and more over the years, I have found so many different types of food and supplements that help.  We need this more than ever today!

Here is a little list that may help you build your immune system, which we all should be focusing on during these times.

Here is my helpful list:

Blueberries

Acai Berries

Pomegranate

Green Tea

Ginger

Garlic

Turmeric

Spinach

Broccoli

Echinacea

Vitamin D3

Elderberry

Probiotics

Ginseng

Vitamin B6 and B12

Oregano

Building our immune systems, does help.  It may not be a cure, but it does help in one way or another.

I’ve learned that creativity is more than just finding a hobby or project to do, but instead it is essential for mental health.  Finding something that brings a smile to your face is very important; we cannot fall into the trap of fear.

Yes, things are very real out there, but if we listen to what has been suggested to us in staying in our home, then we will be doing our part in ridding our World of this virus.  I feel it is a small sacrifice, in order to save our World.
