The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – I’m Loving My Playlist!

There is no hiding it – I am a Rock n’ Roll Lover!  Especially the 80’s Hair Bands!  I’m not sure if it was the music, or the fact I wanted to have long hair and make up like they had, but regardless, those 80’s hair bands stole my heart!

My love for music has grown over the years; I love every genre of music.  I appreciate the different feelings I experience while listening to such creativity.

Every single time I sit down to start writing, I must have music playing.  Today, I have a “coffeehouse” playlist which is calming and interesting at the same time.  The creativity behind this music, clearly is all about emotions.  Music from their hearts!

I feel very fortunate to have all these artists creating music; brings me a sense of calm, encourages me with my own creativity, and puts a smile on my face.  Every now and then, music inspires me to get up and dance!  Not only am I exercising my mind with music, I am exercising my body.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – It Takes Nothing To Apologize

One thing that seems consistent in this World we live in, is there is not enough apologizing.  We all make mistakes, we all say things that could offend, we all wish we could take those words back.  Are you sorry?  Is it ego?  Is it being stubborn?  What is it?

We never remind ourselves, what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot!

We don’t always intentionally hurt the feelings of others, so then why is it so hard to tell those we have hurt, we are sorry?

It truly takes nothing to apologize; how hard is it?

It is time to look in the mirror and first apologize to ourselves for not being brave enough to apologize to those who truly need to hear it.  Then go out and wear your heart on your sleeve and tell them you are sorry.  Not only will this help remove the bricks off your shoulders from carrying that weight of regret, but you will put a smile on someone’s face who truly deserves to be able to smile again.

Honesty is key!  Free your mind, free your soul, and free the hurt that is caused by not apologizing.  It takes only two words, and in fact, just one second to say!

I’m Sorry!

You will feel better, the person who hears your apology will feel better and guess what?  The energy around you will feel better!!  No more dark cloud, but instead sunshine!  Smiles!  Hugs!  Feelings from the Heart!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – The Question: What Are You Thankful For?

Every morning, when I open my eyes from my sleep, I take a moment to think about what I am thankful for, before I even get out of my bed.  I know it sounds easy to do, but to be honest it took discipline.

I was in the habit of waking up and jumping out of bed and not really thinking about anything, aside from, “I can’t wait until 5 pm”.  I would start my day, crabby, anxious waiting for the day to end, and somewhat depressed.  Something had to change!

I decided to do myself a favor and take a moment of, “me time”, before I started my day.  I started with making a conscious effort to lay in bed and think of three (3) things I was thankful for before my feet hit the floor.  I came up with this:

I am thankful for waking up!

I am thankful for my family!

I am thankful for being able to smile!

I kept it simple and easy, but to be honest, it changed the way I looked at my day!  I was no longer in a panic for the day to end!  As my day went on, I found more positive things to be thankful for.  Whether it was the blue sky, a smile from a stranger, or being able to have clean water, I found something throughout my day to keep me focused on the bigger picture in life!  Being thankful!

My morning list has grown, and I am thankful for that as well!  We tend to find so many things to focus on which cause us anxiety; I think it is time to set those aside and focus on what brings us a sense of peace.

Calming the mind, first thing in the morning, will help you throughout your day!  Be thankful for you!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Sharing Memories

In moving into our home, we made a point of going through absolutely, every single bin and box of memories!

In doing so, we found over 100 years of memories!  We found pictures of people we didn’t even know, but we knew we were related too!  We saw resemblances and characteristics in our family photos, which helped us to see and appreciate where we came from.  We always knew these photos existed, but never took the time to truly look deep into these faces.

We began to get to know our ancestry and history more; our roots were beginning to show.

Some pictures brought tears, some brought laughter, and for the most part, these pictures brought big smiles.  Our home became warmer with love and appreciation.  I will admit, this is the first home we have lived in where all of us have felt completely at home.  I’d like to think, by going through all our memories, has contributed to this warm feeling.

In a way, it feels like we are now surrounded by those we have loved and lost; where there was a void, there is now comfort.

Sharing memories in these photos has allowed us to not only feel comfort, but to also start more conversations between us.  We put our phones down and actually talk more about our memories.

We even found my old report cards, that clearly stated, “I needed to start paying more attention in class and to stop socializing so much!”  LOL!!  Little did I know, my social skills would contribute to my blog one day 😉

We have received a cherished gift in going through these pictures!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Bringing Family Together

Good Afternoon!

I know it’s been a while since I have shared with you any updates; I thought I would start with this one!  Bringing Family Together!

Over the summer, we were test driving our ambition in living in an RV full-time; it was a great experience.  It brought family and friends to our campsite to enjoy each others company.  Relations strengthened and it was a true blessing!

Since, we decided that we would save our RV for recreation for the next 5 years, instead of taking it on the road full-time.  We still have some wisdom to gain in this process, which we have no regrets in admitting.

We have moved into our home, where we have also started having family Sunday dinners again.  Bringing family together once a week, has been the best thing we started to do again.  Our family and friend relationships have grown and strengthened; it has been such a positive experience.

As I was thinking of this blog post, I was thinking of family members who may not see eye-to-eye and hence a wall goes up.  How easy would it be to simply put your differences aside and invite that family member over to share a meal with you.  You do not need to even talk about your differences, but simply share a meal with each other.  Meals are prepared with love and care; the same ingredients which go into relationships of all kinds.  A meal warms the heart!

After sharing a meal, you then feel a sense of satisfaction and comfort, and guess what?  You are enjoying this meal and feeling this way in the comfort of someone you didn’t see eye-to-eye with.  Changes the mood, and makes you think.  Sometimes, we get so upset at the small things, that we don’t take time to think that those small things that have upset us, are really not worth putting a wall between you and this person.  Share that meal!

As a family, we have found ourselves bonding even more with each other, by showing the love in a meal and sharing it with each other.  Please give this suggestion a little try, before you know it, no conversation is needed, there will just be a simple, “I’m sorry” where needed and the healing will begin.  A very simple approach, sometimes is all that is needed.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – I Laugh Too Myself!

Laughter is the Best Medicine!

Life is filled with so much to worry about; I think it is time we start focusing on what there is too laugh about!  We take the time to worry and consume ourselves with the “what ifs”, that we forget just how much more there is in life to smile or laugh at!

We have options to help ourselves laugh!

If you are feeling consumed by worry, take a break and dive into the following:

  • Turn on a comedy
  • Go into your local bookstore and read a joke book
  • Google is everyone’s best-friend, search humor
  • Use your mind and think back to a time where something made you laugh

And if that doesn’t work, and don’t ask me why this tends to make someone laugh, but “picture” someone stubbing their toe!  I’m not one for enjoying someone else’s pain, but for whatever reason, the majority will get at least a little chuckle out of watching a good ol’ toe stubbing.

There are always options to find a good laugh!  Don’t let the negative in!  Learn to laugh at it!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – New Life

First, I would like to apologize for being away from my blog, The Good Vibes Only Roadshow, for what seemed to feel like eternity!

We, as a family, decided to take another look at our plan to bring you The Good Vibes Only Roadshow North American Tour 2024 (in five years) but instead we agreed we needed to go for it NOW!!

We moved out of our apartment, and became a full-time RV family! Why were we waiting?  I suppose a little of traditional values we were raised with (just keep a job until retirement) were lingering around in our heads that, “we should” work and work some more before going for it; but it is very hard to tame a FREE SPIRIT!

We have been organizing our home on wheels the past 2 months, and putting together our new World!  New mindset for living on the road, and creating new projects which will now become our lifestyle.  We will be bringing so much to share with others while we set off on this new adventure; we are very excited and nervous at the same time, but it is a good nervous!

We feel like we have a new outlook on life!  Our experiences this past year have shown us what is important – happiness!

I’ve missed reaching out to you all, and I look forward to sharing my blog posts with you and including you in on our journey!
