The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – We Are Making History! We Are All In This Together!

Facebook asks me every morning, “What’s on my mind?”
Then it hit me like a Mack Truck!
AT THE MOMENT, WE ARE ALL MAKING HISTORY!
The World has finally all come together as ONE and are working as a Team with nothing but care and compassion in their Hearts
The enemy in this case is invisible and we NEED each other to fight it off!  In my eyes, this is World War III and we are not fighting each other.
We truly are ONE!
The thought that we are doing this brought tears to my eyes.  The thought of what it took to bring us all together, made me cry even more, but the reality of it is that we were not fighting each other to get us to this point.
It is possible to live in Peace, to actually love each other enough (as we are doing now) to be kind to everyone, and it is possible to live a life where we do not cause pain to another human being or animal!
We are living the proof right now, that we can continue doing so!  Life is precious!

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – A Baseball Player’s Wife

My husband, the sports guru, is a baseball player.  He plays slow-pitch, softball, fastball, and well, you get the picture 😊

As I am a baseball player’s wife, I will admit, life changes from May until the end of October.  Dinner is no longer at a set time; it could range from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm or it could simply just happen in the car on the way to the game!  He doesn’t just play for one team; there are many!

Most wives, would get a bit upset at the fact, their husbands would be gone pretty much every evening and sometimes on weekends depending on if he had a tournament or not, but the way I’ve looked at it, is he is living his dream.  There is more too it than just playing a sport; it is about teamwork, chemistry, brotherhood, and families.

Yes Families!

Every team my husband has been on, has become one big Family!  I’m not going to deny the fact, during baseball season, life does revolve around game times, tournaments, playoffs, etc., but it is by being “a part of it”, makes it better.  For some women, it can be difficult to “want” to be a part of something you are not interested in, or they may find boring, but if you were to look outside the box and see the bigger picture, it is more about coming together in relationships, coming together in supporting the Team, and coming together as family.  Bonds are made, not just for the players, but for their families.

Our baseball season will be here before we know it, and I’d just like to say, I am grateful for the happiness it brings to my husband, as well as to our family.

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Shake It Off!

From the ages of 7 to 23, I played softball, slow pitch, and women’s fastball.  I had the time of my life; the only thing that I would dream of at that time, was hoping for the possibility to be able to pursue women’s sports professionally.  Back in those days, there were no professional women’s sports.  You could only play recreational.

Times have changed.

I learned so much playing this sport, but the one thing that stands out in my mind is my Dad.  My Dad was a baseball fan!  He would attend every game I had!  I was the Pitcher in baseball, so I felt the pressure to be my best, but the teams I was fortunate to be on, worked with such chemistry – we were a well oiled machine!

Being a Pitcher, I would occasionally receive the gift of a line-drive to the ankle; those did not tickle.  The odd time, it would bring me to my knees, and I would be helped off the field.  One time, the pain was so bad, my coach thought I may have broken something and urged my Dad to drive me to the hospital.  They helped me into the vehicle, my Dad drove around the block and said, “shake it off!!”, and then before I knew it I was back on the field.

The funny thing is, is that when he told me to, “shake it off”, I wasn’t sure if it was the shock of the pain, or the shock of hearing him say that, but regardless it worked!  I learned very quickly the power of mind over matter!

We all go through physical pain at times in our lives, but since experiencing the “shake it off” episode, I have found myself applying that technique to when I find myself in pain.  I giggle every time this happens, because to my disbelief, it constantly works and never lets me down.

Don’t get me wrong, depending on the severity of the pain, at the very least, my mind will start controlling how the rest of my body reacts to it, which then makes it more manageable.

The brain will constantly surprise us; it is learning to control how we use it for the better.  In those three words, “shake it off”, taught my brain a lesson that day!  One I will never forget.
